Today I have a real treat for you! Meet Lori. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she came to my house for the last Good Day Sacramento segment. She instantly made me feel comfortable. You know when you meet someone and they make you feel like you’ve known them forever? Yeah, she has that ability. She’s super sweet, funny, and excellent at her job! Check her out!
Hi! I’m Lori Wallace, a full time mom of three little boys (8, 6 and almost 3) and a part-time Anchor/Reporter withGood Day Sacramento/CBS 13.
My husband and I met in Eureka, CA, and have been together 15 years, married for 10.
It was my first on-air reporting job (I was 22) and HE was the Meteorologist for my competing station. It was love at first sight for me when I saw him on TV, but it turned out there was much more to the handsome weather man! He is an awesome dad, supportive husband and puts up with me!
My boys are the sunshine (and sometimes the tornado) in my day. I love their laughter, excitement and courage to try new things.
I love fashion, home design, a good deal, obsessed with taking pictures, exploring with my boys, I love the beach, love my coffee (Iced White Americano, you should try it:), I love music, my girlfriends and the gym. I do. I love the gym.
Paige Tall Riding Boot $377.95
If I really wanted to splurge (i’m pretty frugal, so it will likely NEVER happen), I LOVE the Frye riding boots in just about every style. Like these from Nordstrom…
Jessica Simpson Celeste Wedge Bootie $109.95
I’m also in love with all the super high wedge booties, and I love them in suede. These would be perfect.
I really love…
The North Face Aconcagua Jacket $159.95
I finally treated myself to a nice everyday jacket. I love my new North Face! It is the perfect functional and stylish jacket for all my running around. Standing on the kindergarten line every morning at 8am is a little chilly.
Hunter Original Boots $140
I also splurged on some rain boots last season. I love boots, can you tell? I wish we would get a little rain so I could parade them around!
Oh, and I love my car! We’ve had it two years now, but I can’t imagine driving anything else. We can fit so many kids, and it’s so easy loading them in and out. I just can’t crossover into that minivan territory. I’m sorry. We’re still friends if you have one. I just can’t. I SO fit the criteria as a thirty-something mom of three sons. I had to break out of the box. Ours is white, but you get the idea.
A good run. Life is busy shuffling kids to school, practices, homework…I get to the gym often, but always with littles in tow. My favorite is putting in my headphones, lacing up my running shoes and heading out for a run. Alone. It clears my mind. I think clearly. I rock out. I really find myself taking in the world around me.
Fave beauty item:
Benefit hello flawless! $34 ////TOO FACED Beach Bunny Bronzer $30
These were recent finds, I don’t know how it has taken me THIS long to stumble across them! I’ve been in TV since my early 20’s and have relied on my same beauty items for a long time. I decided to take a stroll through Ulta and Sephora and branch out a little.I still like my staples, but have been turned on to a couple new products that now, I can’t live without! First, Benefit hello flawless!. I picked it up at Ulta and I absolutely LOVE it. GREAT coverage whether you’re going glam or just dropping the kids off at school. Second, TOO FACED Beach Bunny Bronzer. If I’m in a hurry, it’s all I need.
Recent mommy moment…
I feel like my mom moments are so frequent, it’s hard to pick just one. Whether it’s reaching in my purse to pay and pulling out a sock, or stashing my snacks for work in a Lightning Mcqueen lunch bag because it’s all I can find at 4am! The best mom moments for me though, are those moments of unedited honesty that those sweet little sponges of ours spew out! Most recently my middle son, who just turned 6, was explaining to me why he wanted to play with different kids on the playground. He firmly stated that he had officially been in school for 80 days, playing with the same kids for 80 days, and wanted to give other kids the chance to play with him…as if it’s some kind of privilege! It turned into a major teachable moment about being good friends to everyone, including everyone and being kind. As a mom of three I feel like I’m having those conversations a hundred times a day! Truly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Isn’t she the greatest?! Love that North Face jacket. I’m adding that to my list! Thanks so much Lori for sharing all your secrets with us, Lori!
Have a great weekend!
